Weekend. Stooges.
May. 5th, 2003 06:20 pmThe weekend's been good.
On Friday I went to the Prot with
davefish, Anthony and Mei-See. I obviously don't go there enough - apparently them having Caley 80/- on tap is not unusual for them these days. Oh well. Fine time in good company, anyway.
On Saturday I went shopping. I got two pairs of cheap Marks and Sparks jeans, which apart from being black are as absolutely generic as you'd expect, a round file (an 8" bastard round file, according to the sticker) from Testosterone Central) to correct LPs with holes a touch too small to slide on and off my turntable properly, a Dirty Three album (She has no strings Apollo), and misc sundires. The strides, of course, were the main target, as I've been running out of wearable trousers. In the evening, I picked up
grahamb and went to
sushidog's housewarming, which was much fun. I can reveal that Mr B was feeling slightly the worse for wear the next day.
Sunday was quieter. I stayed in, fielded a couple of phone calls, read the paper (q.v.) and then went to
nisaba's leaving bash (sob!), which featured much DAAS (of course) and also Invader Zim. And beer, beer, beer, beer, whisky, whisky and whisky, in my case. And a long walk home in the dawn twilight. Today I've been into town again (and not found what I was looking for (ooh, we know a song about that, don't we children?)).
Tonight . . . probably have to decide whether to give in notice on the house and work tomorrow. And if necessary type something up. Big Decision (now where did I leave that copy of Babble?).
One thing that was mentioned at the party - by
zoo_music_girl (thanks) - was that there's been a Stooges reunion gig. There are links to some pictures from here.
The lineup was Iggy, the Asheton brothers, and Mike Watt (of the Minutemen and fIREHOSE).
The bottom section of this page may be of some interest to a certain Mr Crowley.
