I'm feeling much better today.

The Calling last night was quiet. Too quiet. I reckon we've dropped a small number of tenners on that one. [livejournal.com profile] 5691kb was up first, with a set consisting mostly of covers, some very odd. Second was Fross, who I hadn't seen for a very long time. He is, of course, as one with the bleep, and his set was undisappointing accordingly. I was on last, and . . . well, as usual, I'm not very happy with it. When I get out of this town I will almost certainly hang up my headphones for a while, or perhaps permanently. For a time it was fun being involved with a dedicated Goth club, but after a good patch it's getting harder to find new goth (or goth-friendly) stuff that I really like. I felt roughly this way about the G**h scene about ten or so years ago, and so I stopped hanging around the fringes of it for a while. Maybe it's time to do that again.

Anyway. The inevitable setlist.

Joy Division - She's Lost Control (album version)
The Cure - Lullaby
Garbage - Sleep Together (not actually intentional, that)
The Cramps - Can Your Pussy Do The Dog (points to Jo for dancing - no points to the masses who don't seem to know it)
Shriekback - Nemesis (mind you, it looked for a while like nobody was going to dance to this either)
NiN - Closer (R)
Skinny Puppy - Smothered Hope
Neon Judgement - Chinese Black
Johnny Cash - Personal Jesus (R)
Tsjuber - Demonic Possession (R)
Killing Miranda - Discotheque Necronomicon
NMA - Innocence
The Clash - London Calling
Covenant - Dead Stars (r)
Wolfsheim - Once Every Five Minutes Or So (R)
A Flock Of Sealions - Wishing
Blondie - Atomic
The Horatii - Darrel and Alicia
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Straight To You

I played some Idlewild as well, and maybe one or two others, but I didn't note them down properly at the time and now I can't remember.

Addendum : I've just seen evidence that whatever infection I had yesterday affected my liver function. If you can't guess how I know this, then you almost certainly wouldn't be happier if you found out.
