I'm sure this is a fairly incomplete list. In a lot of cases I've marked than F if I only saw them at a festival, * if I saw them more than once, or S if they were supporting someone else, but please don't assume I've remembered in every case. Mostly I think I've remembered bands I enjoyed, but there are exceptions - Danko Jones, for example.

I may remember more later. Please feel free to remind me if you can verify that I've seen anyone else, or if there's anyone I've previously claimed to have seen (wouldn't want to be inconsistent).

This is partly because some other people have done it, and partly triggered by a taxi driver last night, who took a genuine interest in which concert we'd been to, liked the description of Ladytron and noted them down to search out later, and then chatted amicably about music for the rest of the trip. Most refreshing. He liked the Waifs from hearing them on the radio (me? I saw them supporting Billy Bragg in the Corn Exchange, Cambridge, about 2002).

Mmm. Actually, there are a few I'd forgotten - Ackercocke, Covenant (even though . . . ), Marky Ramone, Marillion, the Scary Bitches, Skelliga (sorry Alix) and Devin Townsend.

Oh dear. I tried out for the band that shortly after that became We Rock Like Girls Don't, but they decided they didn't want me because I'm too tall. I am about a foot taller than their tiny singer, though, it would have looked odd.

Yes, I remembered when I found they were on the bill that there was some connection. Actually, I got the impression they were all relatively tall - they walked past us before going on - but anywhere near my height is indeed well short of yours.

They weren't bad, actually, but nowhere near Sluts of Trust, who were headlining.

Early nineties 30th of April 1989 at the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh (not such a large place - about a 900 fire limit, I think) supported by either Band of Susans or the Wolfgang Press (the other supporting Throwing Muses at the same venue shortly after) and then a couple of years ago at the Brixton Academy supported by the drummer's magic act (which was actually quite magic) - against my expectation, this was actually the better gig.
