I hadn't actually had the email confirmation of the insurance change, but they'd refunded me my pound so I guess the transaction had gone through. I picked various Saunderses up across south and west Edinburgh and had a fairly uneventful trip down to Blackpool. Usual parking space, usual accommodation, usual chips.

The train down was busy, but comfortable. There was a woman who looked like she had a goitre in the end vestibule at one point, and another who I'm guessing was a buddhist nun, in a red-with-some-yellow garment in (I think) the Tibetan style. CJ's friend Viking was somewhere further down the train. I said hello when we passed each other at Euston, where there was faff as I pulled the first blue thing I saw out of my wallet to find that it was my bank card rather than that Lobster thing they all use.

My sister's cat is a bit bigger but still quite odd. Spending most of her time outside, doubtless in the hope of mugging the local wildlife.

Further note: everybody thinks Geldof's a nob.

Ed has one of these. This probably tells you something important about his sense of humour.

This week I've gotten back from London with a tightly-packed load of Kate's stuff and taken it over to my folks' place in Ayr, come back, picked up the last of Ed's stuff and brought it in, and helped [livejournal.com profile] decomposingsoul to move. So that's three house moves I've helped with this week. Tomorrow, a picnic on the beach. According to the Beeb, it's not likely to rain much.

I've seen Keith, too. It's been a couple of years and I was starting to worry.

I've also been listening to some of Auntie Clara's old recordings. Quite a voice. Family history's such an interesting thing, don't you think?

I wasn't tired, so I stayed up too late and digitised a Linus 12" and Bing Hitler Live At The Tron. I was, therefore, quite tired this morning, but it turns out that Nick's team are being dragged off to the beach this afternoon. Barring an unexpected crisis, that's me too. So while I'm sitting in the shade with a sea breeze waiting for the barbecue, I'll be thinking of you all. Honest I will.

Of course, mentioning it an hour in advance is the best way to guarantee such a crisis, but I'll probably just pretend that it didn't happen and the trip went as planned.
