I was looking for my compendium of Amber books the other day, to lend to Sara as possible teaching matter. I can't find it anywhere - I didn't lend it to anyone, did I?

In related news, a link from serpentstar led to to this page, which contains something of potential interest to someone. I'd forgotten that the Amber books also had a possible rôle model princess.

I notice that there's going to be a new series of Celebrity Big Brother. Now, I know I've pestered most of you already with my nominations for my proposed Celebrity Big Brother/Prisoner Cell Block H crossover program. Eight celebrities (ideally C-list at best) are needed for incarcerinclusion. I suggest:

Catherine Bennett asks in today's Grauniad why the world's astrological community didn't foresee the recent tsunami, if they're so good at foretelling the future. After all, you'd think it'd be a hard one to miss.

The Guardian also has an article about Jack Good, about whom I previously knew absolutely nothing, and one about Tommy Ramone. Both recommended, if you have a minute or two. The Ramones film, End of the Century, seems to be out and about again, and it's recommended too. Very highly recommended. If you've any interest in da brudders or even about bands generally, you could do a lot worse.

Also:

Those of you looking for LJ backup tools might have a lok at LJSM, as recommended bycalum. Advantage: written in Perl, so doesnt require .NET stuff and will run about anywhere. More important advantage: won't try to psychoanalyse you on the basis of your LJ. This latter is really fairly crucial.
