At bloody last.
Sep. 15th, 2004 07:45 pm356 to 166, and unlikely to get nobbled by the Lords this time. You can hear the whining all the way up here, though - it's amazing how the impact of the phrase "democratic deficit" disappears once you let a few aristos vote each other back into office.
Yes, it's been a colossal waste of everyone's time, but that's just as much the fault of the advocates of hunting as the opponents. They could have grimaced and accepted the inevitable, but they chose not to so it took a little longer. And now we get the edifying spectacle of finding out how many of the people complaining about government dictatorship have previously complained that they were ignoring their election promises.
