A magician with a truly unusual exit strategy. The Cowgate tattoo
parlour that leaves you with more than an itch. Odd goings on in the
Court of Session car park. These are just three of the things you can
encounter as Writers' Bloc lifts Edina Fair?s fur coat and explores her
seamy underbelly.

Don't expect an evening of cosy ghost stories as Edinburgh's finest
proponents of spoken word performance fiction foul their own nest:
expect instead a little bit of history, a little bit of mystery, and a
slew of finely-crafted contemporary weirdness in the form of short
stories, vignettes, and even some poetry. Writers' Bloc is coming home!

Writers' Bloc is a mix of professional writers and new voices. Several
members have published novels in Britain and the USA. Others have
placed stories in magazines and anthologies as diverse as "Year's Best
Horror Stories", "Scottish Book Collector", "Interzone", "Pinball
Player", "West Coast Magazine", "Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction
Magazine", "Instant", "Markings" and "Grunt And Groan: The New
Anthology of Sex At Work".

Writers appearing at Stealing Arthur's Seat will include: Stefan
Pearson, Hannu Rajaniemi, Andrew Ferguson, Charles Stross, Andrew J.
Wilson, Gavin Inglis and Jane McKie.

The other news is that Ol ([livejournal.com profile] scunner) will be in town this week, and is planning on attending. We could, of course, maybe try to drag him out to see us at other points as well, if there's any interest.
