Calling review & website, and Hitch.
Apr. 25th, 2003 02:36 amI'm just surprised that anyone over there's heard of him. Funny old world.
Onclubbing.com seems to have bitten the big one. This is unfortunate both on general principles and because they pretty much branded us the most hostile goth club in the country, which I'm very proud of (even though it was hopelessly inaccurate). I've just registered a new domain to hang the webshite off - it can now be seen via http://yourenotwelcome.at/thecalling. I also don't have a copy of the review that I can get stuck somewhere else. The Wayback machine has lots of their content archived, but not (apparently) the crucial bit, and it wasn't substantially quoted on upg either. Anyone any ideas?

Date: 2003-04-25 04:12 am (UTC)You forgot Debo, now the Duchess of Devonshire, and Pamela (the Woman - with a capital W). But yes, even with just Nancy, Jessica, Diana and Unity it would have been pretty strange. I've always felt sorry for Tom, but then he didn't survive WWII.
(there's a good summary of the family on the PBS site)

The music can be repetitive at times so you might be better off going to Wake Up Screaming on the alternating Tuesday at the Q. The atmosphere tends to be very hostile as people only seem to go there to impress others rather than to have a good time. One to avoid if possible.

And for WUS:
---
This club night is your typical run of the mill rock night populated with the
same old tired and over played tracks. Like the music, the people don't change
either. On the positive side of things they make you pay for this privilege
(2.50). Not one to recommend as it nearly put me to sleep. The highlight of the
evening was when a group of rockers formed a circle and headbanges in unison
(always good for a laugh!) Save your pennies for the train faire to London as
this club night is one to forget.

Hope this is useful!
