Should anyone still doubt that the hawks within the Republican party seek to end restrictions on US ability to impose its will on world affairs :
As we sift the debris, it will be important to preserve, the better to understand, the intellectual wreckage of the liberal conceit of safety through international law administered by international institutions.

from a longer article published in the The Spectator.
I must say that the article reads almost reasonably until you remember that Perle himself was instrumental in making sure that the world's most powerful nation was never willing to fully support the UN. Come the revolution . . .
