I'm reading Fast Food Nation too. It's kind of preaching to the converted in my case. (Though I didn't realize just how captive to the processed food industry we are). In most cases, probably. Are any of the people who eat at McDonalds 3 times a week going to read it? Unlikely.

Is that Suicide as in Alan Vega? I knew they'd re-formed but wasn't aware of a new album.

Indeed. It's very readable, though. And very informative.

Full original line-up. Alan Vega and Martin Rev. The album's been out for a couple of months, I think. It's . . odd. I'll have an opinion when I've heard it a few times, I think. It has a we-re-quite-pissed-off feel to it. The titles are things like "Televised Executions" and "Dachau, Disney, Disco".

Hilarious, disturbing and terrifying by turns. The chapter with the disciples of David Icke (which you might already have read in the Grauniad) is brilliant.

It's about Jon Ronson's adventures with various groups of fanatics, cultists, whackos, conspiracy nuts and illuminated secret masters. Several chapters were published in the Grauniad, namely the ones on David Icke, the Bilderberg Group and a fundamentalist Muslim cleric from West London (can't remember his name), while others address the Aryan Nations, the Ku Klux Klan and the Ruby Ridge siege. Good stuff.
