Phil's cat has just been to the vet, where he had vaccinations and a microchip injected. This means, as far as I can tell, that he can now access the net from anywhere in the house and we're shortly going to start getting regular emails saying "Meow".

There's an advert in the Grauniad today, taking up about half of page 16, on the subject of global warming. Unusually, it wasn't placed by an environmental charity or a body related to the oil industry, but by Oliver Postgate. At the bottom it states that it is sponsored by the Clangers. I can't find a picture of the advert, but his views on the subject can be seen at more length and less whimsically here. It may have appeared before elsewhere. Have any of you seen such a thing?

After Freya was 'chipped' one of our housemates affectionately nicknamed her Catborg. Thankfully I've never had to use the service but I recommend it to everyone who has a pet as it gives you great peace of mind when they go a-wandering. :)

Or "hiss" when she's pissed off at you. Or other strange onomatopoeic words for that odd yowling noise cats make.

My cat is (1) male and (2) never hisses (at least not when I'm around).

He does however make pathetic whining noises designed to elicit my sympathy when he wants me to let him into my room. They work, too.

Whoops, sorry.

My last cat probably had gender identity issues considering the amoutn of times I called him "her" or "she". Also, I dressed him up as a ballerina when I was 9.

My cat never hissed at me, but I've seen him hiss at plants, bugs, and the garden door.

The pathetic whining noises always work on me too, even when it's a random cat from the neighbourhood. Our next door neigbbours have a rather lovely cat called Dotsy who has taken to jumping in my kitchen window when I'm cooking, and if I shut it to keep her out (Chris is allergic...well, so I am, but I don't really mind) she just sits there and whimpers, whines and mewls. Last time I chucked Chris out of the kitchen.
