a hundred thousand fireflies
Sep. 5th, 2005 02:00 pmThe concert last night was rather excellent. Gary Walker, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Ludwig's Seventh and a hundred thousand things going bang. Still, that's less than half a firework each, so it could be argued that the sponsors were being stingy. The wonderfully organised
gingiber and
anonymous_seth had scored garden tickets, so we lay back between the trees and watched the sky explode in comfort. Mitch and Jim were there, which was good - I'm only seeing them about every year at the moment - as were
fabalafae,
retrogoth and Marianne, Bobby, and Ben.
I'm still coughing a bit, but it's better than Monday. Hopefully I'll be back to normal over the next few days. I've been reading The Banksonian. Very interesting, if you're a fan of Mr B's works. I've been thinking about Use of Chairs a bit. Maybe I'll have to reread it again soon.
