You know, sometimes, the die-hard romantic in me thinks that's a shame.
Other times, I ask a manager for a simple explanation for an acronym for a project I'm working on, and I get sent a thirty-four page sales powerpoint presentation full of fluffy Internet clouds but not one explanation of the acronym...
Surely, if there was a god, s/he would not allow such evil to propogate so profusely.
I don't believe in Tony Blair. (the hair and the smile both look fake, so it's relatively easy not to believe in him) Here's hoping he doesn't try to have a war without telling anyone now that Parliament is in recess...

I remember seeing them talk about it later in some documentary, saying that they'd thought about it and nearly didn't do it because it wasn't actually funny. But then where is it written that satire has to always be funny? So they made the right decision.
I saw Skint Video do a version of a Billy Bragg song once - "I was a miner . . . I was a docker . . . I was bloody busy . . . between the wars" - and they did a song called "Zola" about a Suddefrican athlete, to the tune of a Kinks song.

On that subject, there's also the last episode of "Blackadder Goes Forth", a classic example of a comedy suddenly putting out a serious point.

All together now... "But I've never met a nice South African..." Which isn't true, I've met several nice South Africans - exiles who were over here during the aparteid years mainly.

Skint Video?!...wow, now there's a name I haven't seen for donkeys! I definitely remember that Zola song too. [insert sounds of shuffling in cassette boxes downstairs] OMG I don't believe this - I've just been handed a tape of them live in 1986 called 'Absolute Grinners' with both those songs on!!!
I'm now trying to think when/where I saw them! I'm fairly sure I saw them at least twice, and I'm quite sure it was during the 80s. Elephant Fayre is my first best guess.
