I made it about as far as the Grange before it hit. At first a couple of small flakes sneaked past, as if they might have fallen off one of the trees. Then a few more, and within a couple of minutes the hills had disappeared and the city was engulfed in a cloud of swirling snowflakes as large as my thumbnail. Within a couple more they were starting to lie on the road and the pavements, adding to the remains of last night's fall on roofs and parked cars. Soon my glasses were useless, covered in drops of melt, and a crust was building up on my jacket and hair.
By the time I reached the Kings Buildings, the fall was slackening, the flakes were smaller and the sun was breaking through. I looked straight up into blue sky above me and saw untold thousands of white fragments tumbling down through it.
It was like being wee again, in Bishopbriggs. My memories are of it snowing a lot back then, although I'm sure I'm only remembering the best bits.

I made it all the way to work before the heavens opened, a few lonely flakes preceeding the massive undulating cloud of dusty particles, strangely dark against the grey-white of the morning sky as they spiralled and floated with almost ethereal beauty across the rooftops and grasslands about the ugly, angular business park. Almost immediately, the snow began to cease. The barely settled, speckled flakes of snow then aggravatingly melted into slush and everything was exactly the same, but wetter.
