About last night . . .
Feb. 4th, 2005 01:19 pmCthulhu last night, although predictably little got done. It was good to see people and shoot the shit, though. Pub afterwards, with Andrew beaming and breaking his promise to only run through the story once. He was very pleased by the congratulations I passed on from people (thanks), and only realised with some surprise at last orders that he hadn't bought himself a drink all evening (although anybody else could have predicted that one). He made slight amends (in his own eyes - nobody else was bothered, so he had to really insist) by giving us each a sip of the biggest Highland Park I've ever seen, which arrived courtesy of the staff. He still managed to have most of it himself even after we'd all had some. Steve was there too, and seemed in good spirits, although apparently Lesley's been in hospital again lately.
Andrew promised to lend me his book on the Misfits, primarily for the story which he thought previously might be about Twisted Sister but turns out to be about Mötley Crüe. He told me it again last night and I laughed like a drain. I will share it with you at some point. He also convinced me to go back and have another crack at the Wittgenstein.
A comment to my last post has led me to this page, detailing an incident from the Complete Clusterfuck department.

Date: 2005-02-04 01:40 pm (UTC)There are many interpretations to this (out of context) phrase, a selection of which now follows.
- And I always had you down as one of those who chased the dragon instead.
- I don't recall seeing any news reports on Tony Blair's assassination. Did you check that the bugger was dead?
- I don't recall seeing any news reports on George Bush's assassination. Did you check that the bugger was dead?
- I don't recall seeing any news reports on Andrew Eldritch's mercy killing. Did you check that the bugger was dead?
