On Tuesday John Peel broadcast a set by The Magic Band (yes, that magic band, but for obvious reasons without the Captain) from All Tomorrow's Parties. I was busy, but Dave-at-the-next-desk taped it and we're listening to it in the office at the moment.

Most recommended. It should still be available somewhere on the BBC website.

Found on The Register, this link to a handy page on the life and work of Henry the K :

Also (and largely for my own reference) :

Clearlake. Peterborough on the 16th, Harlow on the 17th, London on the 20th.

Update: ON a not-entirely-unrelated note, how to make the world a worse place in one easy lesson:

There's a fairly unsurprising article here concerning the US economy, and comments on it by Alan Greenspan, head of the Federal Reserve Bank. As a digression, it ends :

And now for something completely different. For those tired of war and taxes, an amusing Alan Greenspan story: A few days ago, ABC News reported that Alan Greenspan had been hospitalized with "an enlarged prostitute" (instead of "an enlarged prostate"). His wife, NBC correspondent Andrea Mitchell, responded by saying, "He should be so lucky."

This is likely to be used on more tendentious posts.
