. . . if a job description asks for a recent graduate, someone who graduated ten years ago would be pushing it a little, yes?

Still worth trying?

Go for it. Even if this post isn't right, they may like you and decide to suggest another post. What have you got to lose?

That is a very good point. You didn't say there were application forms.

Although actually, you really should go for it anyway. You're not going to find a better job if you don't fill out application forms.

Tell me more?

Looks like a great place to work, and they do say if you don't see the right job for you there, apply anyway!

Why not call them and ask them if it's worth applying? Try to be chatty, find out if they would have any vacancies for someone with your experience?

Oh, looks interesting. Go for it.

What's to lose? Half an hour filling out an application form, and the price of a stamp.

In my experience application forms generally take about three hours to do a worthwhile job on and drain your soul away while doing it!

In this instance it may still be worth it, but the cost is non-negligible...

Go for it; even if you don't get it, it's good practice.

Definatley go for it.

Hell it will fill a boring half hour which you are being paid for anyway ;)

it is always worth a try.

If you're the right person, they'll throw the person specification out of the window, to be honest. And they can't know whether you're the right person if you don't apply.

Depends if 'recent graduate' is coding for:
someone bright, desperate and naive;
someone who recently learnt whatever the field is and hasn't forgotten how to learn;
someone young;

Since you're neither that young (I'm afraid) or desperate and naive (as far as I know), see if it's the second one.

Do it. How old are you? Older than 20, so you graduated in the latter part of your life, which makes it recent. Ner.

And anyway, if you don't do it you might always wonder.
