1.7% even in Scotland, and 8% in Yorkshire.

It's amazing how thin the veneer of civilisation is.

Tho I do find it quite depressing that the UKIP outdid the Lib Dems..

I've heard it suggested, andit seems pretty plausible to me, that UKIP picked up votes from LibDems. The party is more Europhile than its supporters, so it makes sense for Lib Dem supporters to vote something fairly nationalist in European elections, and returnto the fold for enerals/locals.

But voting is civilisation. If the veneer really were cracking, they'd be out on the streets beating up A-rabs.
