1. Naughty us. The Royal Navy's selling off hulks to the Turks, who are probably going to resell them to Indian yards for breaking because of the hazardous materials in them. Workers there have no significant protection against these materials, and other safety standards are very low too.

2. The Scottish Labour Party wants nothing to do with compulsory ID cards. Jack McConnell, the first minister, said yesterday he was opposed to demanding them to use services run by the Scottish executive.

4. It seems that mclusky will be on tour in Australia during December. If anyone has any friends over there who like punk bands, they might like to listen to a song or two. (And apparently their sound bod will be Ant Chapman, of Collapsed Lung and uk.music.alternative fame)
