. . . were very good last night. I went from work into town, caught a train to London, dropped in on various assembled blackdressing types at the Liquid Lab for an hour or so (Hi! Nice place you have down there) and then caught a bus over to Hackney. The wait at the bus stop was slightly longer than would have been nice, but I got dropped closer than I expected. The support (The Real Tuesday Weld) weren't terrible memorable. FBH were great, though. Some of the songs were very close to the recorded versions, and some were quite acoustic. And now I know what Christopher Ewen looks like. They played Lonely Days and Hopeless, and finished with No River. So I was happy.

duranorak, I recommend you those three.

Not as it happens. The bus turned out fine. I think I walked in on Tuesday Weld's first song.

Yes, you'd have been looking forwards. They didn't actually turn the lights down until after I arrived, though. I ended up at the far end of the second row from you, right behind two dstinctively dressed young ladies who were either reviewing the gig or doing their geography homework. And sending texts in the middle of songs. They clapped in the right places, though, so I'm prepared to forgive them.

You should've dropped in: Ocean is my local venue (though I've never actually been to it). But there's no reason you would have known that, I suppose. I did look FBH up on the web when you posted that they were playing. Unfortunately their site didn't seem to have anything downloadable, so I couldn't check them out.

Disappointed to hear that it's seated, though; is that indeed the case?

It was seated last night. It was standing when I've been there before. It's quite good, actually. Claudia (from t'Heroes) said that there was a sign backstage to "the Ocean floor", which they quite liked.

Actually, there was another nice bit as well - roughly :
