It's been mostly quiet. Pub a couple of times. That sort of thing. On Saturday I went back to Ayr, having passed on the Crimea ticket to a friend, to have dinner with my folks. This was fine, although not the rather busier evening I'd had planned. I gave my cousin Lorna a lift over, and gave her her birthday present - a Laibach compilation. Well, she likes Rammstein. I played her some Bad Seeds too. Dinner was fine, and we all sat around for a couple of hours at home after. In the morning I read a couple of guidebooks to Jamaica that my parents got when they went back briefly a few years ago. It's very strange to think of Treasure Beach having a shopping centre. It used to be the middle of nowhere.

On the way back, Lorna put the Bad Seeds on again (Muahahahaha) and after dropping her off I burned a couple of disks for Ed.

I was meaning to mention an article by Gareth Peirce, from just before the 90-day vote, on why it was a bad idea. She doesn't seek publicity often, but seems to be well worth paying attention to when she does.

There was also an opinion poll blatantly contradicting claims that the public were solidly behind the 90-day part of the Bill. Today, on the other hand, there are reports that the party is more restive over the proposed further education reforms, and may rebel on a larger scale. Interesting times.

I'm also slightly pissed off with the nature of and reporting on the Remembrance Day services. I may or may not comment further later.
