What album? I need to get another Mag Fields album (having 69 Love Song, Charm of the Highwary Strip, and Holiday is just not enough, but without knowing the other albums I haven't gotten round to shelling out yet).
By the way, the soundtrack album that Stephin Merrit's done recently is very lovely. Another one to get at the weekend, I feel.
I'd suggest "Get Lost" next, unless you don't have the Future Bible Heroes album "Memories of Love". I was just listening to the former, and it's fab. The latter is, if anything, even better, and was the first of Merritt's albums I bought (after hearing Lonely Days on Radcliffe's erstwhile late-night show). As for Sixths albums . . . I'd go for the second (Hyacinths and Thistles) before the first. Personally, anyway.
I don't know how well publicised this has been so far but I thought you might like to know Future Bible Heroes are playing a gig on the 29th of September at the Bush Hall in London.
Really? The first one is still my favourite, but I may not have given the second one much of a chance - the guests are more "off the wall" than the first one, to put it mildly... also Herb (of Kiki & Herb fame) plays piano on some tracks!
I second 'Get Lost'. Also 'Holiday' and 'The House of Tomorrow' EP. Other Merritt musical outings are always worth hearing, but I didn't think much of the Future Bible Heroes EP - maybe because I had the majority of the (over two years old) tracks knocking about anyway and I was ripped off £8 for the 'pleasure'.
Stephin lit a cigarette for me once. And I don't even smoke! I am pathetic. He's shorter than one would think, IRL...
Hmmm. I'm roughly with you on the FBH EP, although Cafe Hong Kong's good. The new one apparently doesn't have a version of Hopeless on it, which is obviously the end of an era. I still recommend the album opst highly, though.

That's worrying. I already think he's tiny.
