I notice that almost exactly everyone (including me, but not including Andy Penguin and one other person) should vote Lib Dem. I do hope somebody's told Charlie Kennedy about this, because it looks like he's going to be spending much more time away from the new kid than he's probably been bargaining on.

In other news, the filter wheel is still working.

Little surprise, by these results. It's all sewn up already. Some very subtle and effective Lib Dem campaigning there. I'm incredibly impressed.

i cerrtianly looked a bit dodgy when i saw it. For starters you cannot give any wieght to which issues concern you most. I am not too bothered about the classifcation of canabis say (would love it to be decriminalised, but it does not keep me up at night) while say public transport is a big deal to me, or say pensions. Also I nopticed some questions seemed to be explicity Lib Dem ones, say the income tax at 50% and so on.

The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

yep. I feel a wee bit like a yellowy gold sheep. :)

However, later this year I get to vote for an awesome PM and the first leader I feel a kindred spirit with. She's not pretty but she's smart and kicks ass where needed. This is a special time in my life I guess.

I thought that was why there's 5 buttons ranging from Bah! to w00t! with Meh... in the middle? That's how I treated it anyway.

Yup & others are explicitly Labour or Tory.

Everyone whose results I've seen has expected to come out LibDem anyway.

I thought this was how far either way oyu were on each issue rather then you felt it wa smore important. After all you may feel storngly about a moderate or neutral stand point. Plus I played around with it a bit and it seemed to suggest tat moderately anti the euro made you a tory strongly made you ukip, but if you were neutral Labour and for it Liberal, did nto seem to say if you were that bothered about it.

I spotted a couple of Tory ones, but nto really out and out Labour policy iniatives or gripes.

Labour policies/gripes: ID cards, Detention without trial, Iraq war - off the top of my head. Frankly I'm so pissed off about these that I haven't looked into Labour's other policies this time round - not that they've ever had my vote anyway...

If there's a major LibDem gain in this election, expect the winners (assuming it's not them) to turn LJ into a constituency in its own right, entirely neutralising the yellow vote! 8-)

Well, certainly excepting me. And if well over 90% of the people on LJ actually are going to vote LDP, I think I might soon be regarding a dinner plate of hat in white wine sauce.

I hadn't seen your results though - I was basing it on peoples' expected result, and you didn't give yours. Personally I knew from long acquiantance that many of my friends leant that way, so I was rather less surprised than certain other people.

Plus the LibDems have always claimed that many of their 'natural' supporters don't vote for them because they don't believe they'll win so their vote will have been wasted! 8-)

Even if it *is* deliberately partisan, at least it's a change from the official campaigns of "Your sums don't add up", "No your sums don't add up!", "Well your sums don't add up and you smell of poo!"... 8-)

I'm not sure it is deliberately partisan. They say they tried not to be, and I don't see any reason not to believe them. These things are tricky to do.

Sure. To me it looks like they gave it a good bash, but maybe didn't balance it quite right. BTW, how badly wrong do you think they got your result spread?
Mine was about what I expected (apart from UKIP scoring at all positive!)

The Conservative Party is strongly against joining the Euro and against greater use of taxation to fund public services. I've voted Tory three times in a row and probably will again, so this is pretty much accurate. Looking at the other parties, I have some sympathy with UKIP european policy, but I'm not nearly as rabid as them and would never vote for them, so the small positive is probably about right. I have fairly equal dislike for Lib and Lab, but I'm slightly more unhappy with Lib thanks to their taxation policies.

If there's an inaccuracy its the neutral position for the Greens, that should be a large negative, probably the largest actualy. Not because I have anything against Green politics, but rather I strongly disagree with thier redistribution of wealth politics.
