In all, I've lived in Edinburgh for eleven years, and I've only just looked up where Palladium is. Some of my favourite records were recorded there, and it's within walking distance. It was, of course, one of 4AD's favoured studios. Maybe it still is.

Shitehawk blues

So what exactly is a shitehawk? It seems to have existed as a word at least as far back as '59, and may well be an awful lot older. Actually, it seems to have been used to refer to various seabirds for quite a while, and may originally be Irish.
