A few weeks ago I got accused of being the sort of man who would know who Richard Thompson was. Now, even given that it's actually entirely true, I was taken aback by the stunning sarcasm (which I had to admire).

Last night, I was mailed a wonderful mp3 by a friend, of a little ditty being sung by the man himself, on a topic of recent(ish) exposure. It's here, in case you haven't heard it.

Had a couple of pints last night in the Earl of Marchmont with Sandy. I should do that more often. It's good to talk.

I must admit, that mp3 has improved my opinion of Richard Thompson. I've always thought he was a bit, well... wet. Sounded like he needed a good dose of gravel mixing in with his songs.
