Apparently the government is finally going to introduce a minimum wage for under-18s. Only 3 quid an hour, but better than a poke in the eye with a wet herring. Of course, I ask myself why it took so long, but it's not like anyone else would have done it at all.

According to El Reg, Worldcom have reworked their accounts and, reassuringly, were only out by [pinkie in mouth] 74 beellion dollars.

That's more than I make in a whole week. Jail those fuckers now.

Did you follow one of the links from that Register story?

MCI/WorldCom, the company behind the biggest fraud in US corporate history - has appointed someone in charge of - get this -"ethics".

And this next bit is some of the best corporate bollocks businesspeak I've recently had the misfortune to read: WorldCom boss, Michael Capellas, said: "MCI strives to be a model of good corporate governance with best-in-class ethics compliance."

Translated: The safe has been emptied and so we're pretending to be very good now.

If you think that's bad, you should've seen the shit we were fed internally. This insanity was a prime example. Shortly after, every department was made to appoint an "ethics officer", who job it was to ensure every staff member attended "ethics training". As I knew I was leaving the company by that point, I told them where to go, so I don't know just what rubbish they were spounting there.

To be fair, Michael Capellas had nothing to do with the fraud and really arrived too late to steal anything. Bernie Ebbers and his cronies, however, should be sent to rot in jail with lots of large men who are clumsy with soap and prefer to be known as Bubba...

Me, bitter? Generally not, but I've seen a good company (UUNet) ruined and friends made redundant because of that greedy selfish fucker.

*ahem* in my humble opinion, anyway... *sits in her hands to stop ranting further*

That's fantastic! Sorry, I had to comment on that as it made me laugh.

I won't coment further on this as clearly you have had first-hand experience of Mr Ebbers evil-doing. Unfortunately looking at Parmalat and The payout Dick Grasso recieved it seems that "Greed is Good".
